Truthfulness is the quality of speaking and living in a truthful manner.

In Sri Rag M.1 (p.35) Guru Nanak Dev Ji said :
Truth is the highest, but truthfulness is still higher.
Truth is seen when our hearts are pure. We know the truth when by God's Grace we receive the true instruction and we know the way. When we make sincere effort to search for Truth, we will find the right way.
Becoming a better human means to think truthful thoughts and live a truthful life.
In Sikhism the God conscious persons who are absorbed in the Name of the Lord, are emancipated while contemplating the Name of the Guru. Their mind and body become immaculate.
Living a truthful life goes hand in hand with thinking truthful thoughts. If what we say and what we do are not in agreement, then we are not practicing truth.
Further examples from the Guru:
Those who have turned Guruwards are acclaimed as truthful at the True Gate and merge in the True Lord
(Wadhans M3, p.565)
Guru Amar das Ji says that I am sacrifice to those who are found truthful in the True Court
(Sri Rag M , p35)
He alone merges in truth who looks upon the Lord as truth
( Gauri Sukhmani M.5 p283)
Examples from other faiths:
Christianity: Putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor, for we are members one of another. The Truth shall set you free.
The Grace of Waheguru is the single most
important factor in our practice of Truthfulness.
