He walks amongst us, the lowly and the blind.
He leaves many a clue yet remains hidden from view. Guru Nanak is here today but who would believe this?
He listens to our cries and recognizes every sigh. He speaks to us but only if we speak to him first. He quenches us, but only if we have such a thirst. He never imposes, and lets us live as we please.
He is Real, yet the mind has filed him away as history or exiled him off to some distant galaxy. He appeared in form for a while, and remained eternally here. He dwells quietly in our heart, while we sleep oblivious and apart. Entangled in trinkets and pleasure, we miss the greatest treasure. Ever new, ever fresh, his love is the wellspring nourishing the soul.
In priceless hymns he sings to the soul and therein answers our call. He whispers gently each dusk & dawn, but we dismiss him with a yawn.
Only if we would stop and be still...
Hush O tongue, cease! so he may speak.
Listen O ears! lest you miss the sweet melody fragrant in the breeze.
Look, O eyes, through the lens of love and see him closer than the breath.
Stop O mind! stop your antics and know him as your very Self.
Celebrate your Satguru each day for everyday is Gurpurab!
Celebrate and be merry, and sing God's glories, forever and ever, surrender to the True Guru.
