The Necklace of Naam

In the empty string of breath, stop and string the Supreme.

Whisper Waheguru with devotion and gather a pearl, Sing Waheguru with love and a ruby you will string.

Feel Waheguru as the breath and a priceless diamond is strung.

In this way are gathered the jewels that embellish and sanctify this form.

Earthly pearls, rubies and diamonds are precious, but insipid before Naam.

Yet with such analogies the limited mind tries to describe and explain the indescribable

Jewel that defies theft and perishes not.

Adorn and cherish yourself with Only the Best,

and see how readily ends all other quest.

Wear in silence this ornament of priceless glow,

at all times and places, wherever you go.

Enjoy the secret treasure that was yours from the start,

so mysteriously concealed within your very heart.

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਾਰੁ ਕੰਠਿ ਹੈ ਬਨਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਤੀਚੂਰ ਵਡ ਗਹਨ ਗਹਨਈਆ

har har haar kanth hai bani-aa man moteechoor vad gahan gehna-ee-aa.
