THESE HANDS

How amazing are these two hands!

The tools of every trade. How skillfully designed to perform the most

intricate, graceful, strenuous and awkward of tasks.

Ten fingers, each so strategically placed with the versatility to play an

instrument, paint a masterpiece, embroider a tapestry, soothe a hurt, strike a

blow, to construct or demolish or to point at You.

These hands were designed to do wonderful things and make beautiful

gestures.

The most beautiful and gracious gesture

that these hands can display is the one

in which the palms are joined together

in prayer.

These hands were really created for praying.

My praying hands I hold up to You...

In awe and boundless appreciation of

Your countless gifts…

For this sense of wonderment and

speechless awe that brings me to my knees.

Words fail me but my hands speak the

language of this grateful heart...
