Journey along the True Way

I am on a journey. To make it pleasant I must make some changes. I need to travel light in order to move comfortably, since the excess baggage will only hinder my speed and become an inconvenience, as has been the case.

This baggage of self-indulgence, pride and negativity - I must drop along the way. For food I take along with me the platter of "Waheguru! Tuh meharvan hain!" for this alone is my sustenance on this journey. I need not carry any thirst quencher for that drink will be gained in the form of Amrit-Ras, through the practice of sincere mental simran or an Attribute of Waheguru.

My sole companion on this journey is Waheguru Himself; being closest to me, He is my only friend, navigator and Superior. His Company would be the torchlight to Illuminate my way.

My mode of travel is the motion of my thought about His said Attribute. Through this thought my mind remains in the Company of God and I gather strength to stay on route. I am not capable of proceeding along the specified route but that does not matter as Waheguru is always with me:

"Gur mere sang sada hai nale. " ( Page 394 - Holy Granth)

The Guru Granth has told me that my destination (aim) is: Har jan aisa chahi-ai jaise Har hi hoi". (Page 1372 of Holy Granth). It means that the slave of God should be just like Him. Therefore 1 must imitate the way in which God manifests His Attributes in the Universe.

The True Way has been paved with the instructions of the Holy Granth, along with inspirations to put them into practice. However the mind must remain alert to safeguard itself against the possible raids of Maya along the way and to avoid any pitfalls and thus proceed confidently with trust in God.

Abiding by His Will continually, I surrender myself and my own will before Him under His Guidance and in His Company. Each one of us is at some point on this journey. If we become aware of this amazing process, and direct ourselves accordingly, this journey can take on a color and inspiration unlike anything we have experienced previously. O beings! Realize this wonderful concept and get in touch with your companion (God) who is always with you everywhere.
