First appeared Sri Krishna in the most wondrous and unforgettable vision at 11 years of age. Then in the forties Guru Nanak bestowed the love for Gurbani in my heart. But still the mind had many questions.

One auspicious day in 1989 I stumbled upon Swami Yogananda’s teachings in Encinitas and this catalyst strengthened and propelled my spiritual quest.

Then Sri Ramana appeared through the Internet in 2008 to remind me of the question that had stumped me throughout my early childhood and led me to Self inquiry.

The answer was further expounded via books and YouTube videos by Nisargadatta Maharaj in 2015 onwards. His words skillfully dissected the “I”and laid bare the essential Self I am at the core. The transience of body, mind and material wealth is now clear and acceptable. In endless gratitude to these five Gurus who lighted the way.

All five Gurus came at the right time and provided what was craved for at the time. How this came about, the mind will never know. I do not hold onto any particular image or creed nor observe any rituals. The past doubts and fears about displeasing God are gone. There is no more searching for a Guru because the Guru/Light is within me and has always been here. This knowledge is clear, it is only the ego that feels it needs to stabilize in the knowledge. It feels it is a slow learner and may not retain the teaching. The ego wants to read and listen further and clarify things. It thinks it has the theory but may fail in the practical. It doubts if it can truly meditate. The musings of the ego are watched as one watches a thief. This is seen and understood by the Silent Witness. ♾🙏♾ June 6, 2019
