Is beatitude or state of true happiness.

Every person seeks happiness and in this search he finds much disappointment and confusion. This is because he seeks happiness in the wrong places. He thinks that having a lot of nice things can make him happy. Until he understands what brings him true and lasting happiness he wastes a lot of time and energy. Beatitude or supreme happiness is attained on realizing the Lord. Worldly happiness is something that does not last for long.
According to the Gurus, God is the ocean of true happiness; when we seek Him and love Him, we experience true happiness. On meeting the True Guru one experiences true joy and one does not seek momentary pleasures that leave him sad and frustrated. Therefore, as part of our education we must discriminate between beatitude and temporary happiness which arises from sense of possession and egoism. The Gurus have given us many discourses
on this subject. Here are some examples:
The state of bliss is obtained on becoming attuned to the sayings of the Guru. Everyone talks about bliss, but realizes it only on meeting the True Guru. When the Guru showers His grace, our sufferings end and we are blessed with divine knowledge. (Ramkali M3, Anand, p. 917) Supreme happiness consists in the concentration on the Word of the Guru. Whoever listens it and practices it, crosses the world ocean (Asa M. 5. p. 370) To become a better human we must seek true happiness which is found in loving God through His creation. Being happy in the happiness of others. When we learn to truly celebrate other peoples happiness, we find joy. Joy is the true nature of the human soul.
