Guru Arjan Dev ji, like a doting mother you sat hour after hour, day after day, year after year, in the labor of love, gathering ,compiling and embellishing the sacred writings of the Gurus and saints. You further glorified and complemented this monumental work with your own priceless gems set in the most soulful divine verses and bestowed upon us the choicest treasure here on earth. Morsel by morsel you gathered this, our daily bread, to nourish and
inspire us through the perpetual gift of the Sacred Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.
You labored tirelessly to raise up the most exquisite temple in order to house this treasure and established a special place of pilgrimage for all.
Finally without the slightest sigh, you laid down your life to uphold the integrity of the Guru Granth and the followers of the panth. Your depth and devotion are beyond the
comprehension and appreciation of the mortal mind. No words can describe a Guru whose eyes mirrored the tenderness of the gentlest mother, whose hands served to reveal the talent of the Master artist; who wielded the unrelenting strength of the noblest father; whose courage is evidence of the very strength of God; whose words exude the sweetest fragrance of unconditional love. I do not know God except through your writings. You remind me only of the One you extol unceasingly. So Guru Arjan Dev ji, I cannot tell you apart from God.
Guru and God are One and the same.

0 mortal being, do not leave this path; do not think that there is any difference between God and Guru. The Perfect Lord God has manifested Himself; He dwells in the heart of Guru Arjan Dev ji.
